Deyan Terziev is a Senior Associate with BOYANOV & Co. with more than 12 years of experience. He began his career at the firm as a Trainee Attorney (2012–2014), progressed to Junior Associate (2014–2017), then Associate (2017–2021), and has held the position of Senior Associate since 2021.

Since 2018 Deyan has been a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Europe with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Deyan’s areas of specialization include: Personal Data Protection, Consumer Protection, Commercial, Employment, TMT. Deyan provides regular advice to clients on regulatory compliance matters in the field of telecom regulations, personal data protection, whistleblowing, e-identification and digital signatures, connected vehicles, cybersecurity, AI and IT. He has participated in legal due diligence analyses of mobile telecoms, IT companies, TV and radio stations. He has significant experience in carrying out extensive data protection and whistleblowing compliance projects for local subsidiaries of international clients. Deyan has also participated in all legal projects undertaken by the firm on matters related to autonomous and connected vehicles.

RECENT WORK

Secondment at Philip Morris Bulgaria during which he advised and assisted the local subsidiary of PMI in relation to its day-to-day legal matters, e.g. consumer protection, competition issues, production, distribution, internal procedures, excise tax obligations and procedures, marketing, services agreements. Further to this secondment, Deyan provides ongoing support to the client on complex legal matters, including data protection and management of consumer database and direct marketing regulations, review of contracts and general terms and conditions, product regulations and labelling advice;
Audits and advice implementation with respect to GDPR compliance for multiple clients, including a leading distributor of premium vehicles in Bulgaria, the local subsidiary of an international manufacturer of bathroom solution, sanitary ware and plumbing fixture, a leading pharmaceutical company, and leading retail and wholesale chains;
Advice and implementation of local whistleblowing channels for multiple clients, including the drafting of locally-specific documents and providing advice on the interaction between global and local whistleblowing channels;
Providing regular advice to tech-related clients on regulatory compliance matters in the field of telecom regulations, personal data protection, e-identification, and digital signatures, connected vehicles, and cybersecurity;
Acting data protection officer (as a service) of Angelini Bulgaria;
Provided advice and assistance to major local insurance company in relation to a serious cyber incident;
Advised Eurobank Bulgaria on implementing contractual clauses for provision of ICT services in compliance with the requirements of the DORA Regulation;
Providing ongoing regular legal advice to Meta, including on matters related to personal data protection and the usage of various innovative technology, including in the context of employment;
Advised on a number of occasions Volkswagen AG and Audi AG in respect of local telecommunication regulations, data protection, e-privacy, consumer protection, automotive regulations and other relevant aspects in relation to innovative digital services offered by them;
Advised Bytedance on the applicability of the local telecom, personal data protection and cybersecurity regulations regarding content delivery networks, as well as on the applicable incident reporting regulatory regimes;
Advised on the regulatory (including related to data security and encryption, electronic communications, electronic commerce, broadcasting) and intellectual property (copyright and licensing) aspects of Spotify’s innovative new information society service;
Supported Kohlberg & Co in performing a personal data protection due diligence for Bulgaria related to the planned acquisition of a majority stake in Worldwide Clinical Trials, a privately held, leading global, full-service contract research organization.
Advised Denso Corporation on the telecommunication-related legal aspects of providing their vehicle related technology connected services to customers such as OEMs and Fleet operators.
Provided full legal support in the launch of the website for retail trade of bottled water and other beverages of Devin EAD, local subsidiary of Spadel.
