Georgi joined the firm in early 2015 as a Senior Associate, bringing with him 15 years of experience in the Bulgarian banking sector: 8 years as in-house legal adviser of Eurobank Bulgaria, incl. 4 years as Deputy Head of the In-house Legal Unit of the bank responsible for, among others, all legal aspects of the lending activity of the bank and of attracting deposits and other financing, incl. through loans provided by the Group or other international financial institutions; and 7 years as Head of the Legal Unit of Credit Agricole Bulgaria (2008-2014), managing and supervising the activity of the legal counsel, both in-house and external, including 2 years acting as a Member of the Management Board (2013-2014), responsible for the organization, management and supervision of both Legal and Compliance functions of the bank.

RECENT WORK

Advised a syndicate of banks led by Unicredit Bulbank and BNP Paribas on an EUR 100 million financing of the purchase of a leading Bulgarian media group - Nova TV;
Advised the lead manager of the largest corporate bond issue (EUR 130 million) in Bulgaria with issuer Energo-Pro Varna, the proceeds from which were to be invested in improving the network and quality of services of the company;
Advised Ideal Standard Vidima on a syndicated EUR 65 million loan provided by DSK Bank and United Bulgarian Bank;
Advised an international bank in relation to entering into a finance contract with a Bulgarian bank as a borrower, where the obligations of the borrower under the finance contract will be secured over local currency Bulgarian government bonds that are cleared at Clearstream;
Advised Raiffeisen Bank International AG on two separate programmes for purchase of trade receivables of large groups from sales in several jurisdictions, including Bulgaria;
Advised the European Investment Bank on an EUR 37,2 million financing of Oliva AD for the construction of a new edible oil processing plant and grain silos in Bulgaria;
Advised a Luxembourg client on receiving financing amounting to EUR 4,8 million provided by KBC Bank Bulgaria to construct a logistics base in Sofia to be leased to DHL Bulgaria;
Advised Eurobank S.A. and Alpha Bank S.A., acting directly and through their subsidiaries, on the Bulgarian law aspects of an EUR 103 million financing of the acquisition by Tyrbul, a Bulgarian subsidiary of Hellenic Dairies S.A., of United Milk Company, a leading Bulgarian dairy, which produces and markets a variety of milk products under a number of brand names;
Advised Eurobank S.A., Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg S.A. and Eurobank Bulgaria AD on the Bulgarian law aspects of a financing for Galleria Burgas EAD and Galleria Stara Zagora EAD, the owners of shopping malls in Bulgaria;
Advised Citibank N.A. London Branch on entering into and securing ISDA trades with Asarel-Medet AD, the first, biggest and leading Bulgarian company for open pit mining and processing of copper and other types of ores;
Advised Eurobank S.A. Greece and Eurobank Cyprus Ltd., Cyprus on the Bulgarian law aspects of providing a senior secured loan facility to the Cyprus companies Kamenitza Navigation Limited, Koznitza Navigation Limited, Sakar Navigation Limited and Murgash Navigation Limited as joint and several borrowers, for the purpose of financing part of the acquisition cost of 4 ships, and guaranteed by the sole owner of the capital of the borrowers, Navigation Maritime Bulgare JSC;
Advised Eurobank Bulgaria AD, in its capacity of Arranger and Facility Agent, and Eurobank S.A. Greece and Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg S.A. as lenders, with respect to the Bulgarian law aspects of a refinancing for Sofia South Ring Mall EAD, operating one of the largest shopping malls in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as in relation to an interest rate hedging for the financing.
