Nickolay is a Partner at BOYANOV & Co., where he currently heads the Real Estate & Construction Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1999 and has been a key member of the team for over 26 years. He has served as Partner and Co-Head of the Real Estate & Construction Practice since 2006.
Nickolay is recognised as a leading practitioner in real estate and construction law in Bulgaria. He is ranked in the Hall of Fame of Legal 500’s Real Estate and Construction rankings for Bulgaria, which notes that he is “well versed in the construction of renewable energy projects.” Chambers Europe highlights his expertise in commercial construction and praises his approach as “very knowledgeable, co-operative and flexible,” and “business, deadline and detail-oriented.” His practice covers a wide range of real estate and construction transactions and disputes, with a particular focus on commercial developments, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects. His deep industry knowledge and practical, solutions-oriented advice have earned him the trust of domestic and international clients alike.
Before becoming a Partner, Nickolay worked as a Senior Associate and Head of the Sevlievo office (1999–2004). Prior to joining BOYANOV & Co., he served as a lawyer with the Bourgas Bar Association (1994–1999) and as a Junior Judge at the Bourgas District Court (1993–1994). Nickolay is a member of the Sofia Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Center for International Legal Studies, and the Legal Development Foundation.
