Borislav Boyanov & Co. Acts for Financing Parties on EUR 875 Million Syndicated Loan Facilities to Bulgaria Telecom and its Parent
Borislav Boyanov & Co. acted as Bulgarian special counsel to a syndicate of international banks and other financial institutions led by Citigroup and Landsbanki providing finance to Viva Ventures Holding GmbH, Austria, the holding company of the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (the incumbent fixed line telecommunications operator in Bulgaria), in the amount of EUR 525 million for the purposes of refinancing acquisition finance obtained by Viva for the purposes of the acquisition by privatization of 65% of BTC from the Bulgarian government in 2004.
In addition, Borislav Boyanov & Co. advised on a simultaneous loan facility made by a syndicate of international banks and other financial institutions with Citibank N.A. as arranger lending EUR 350 million to the BTC to be used for its general corporate purposes and to refinance existing loans used by BTC.
